In the interview to know about feedback with service provider on using no-till planter. Mr. MEAS Chim is a service provider in Bannan district, Battamabang province was said that he bought a tractor since 2011, and bought combine harvester in 2013, and then 2015 he bought one more combine harvester. Now has 2 tractors, he is a farmer, have no business then farming and service provider. So, he found this business in better and keep going with it, and also good support from his family. Before we have a lot of customer, but now the customer is lower. because today there are a lot of service provider, before we work 24 hours, with his son, we didn't hire the labor , but his son passed a way.
His son works from morning to evening at 9 pm then his turn until morning back to his turn. In the morning, his son sleeps during his plowing. It up to the real situation of plowing. If the land are in good level, he can say 200 ha, if not he can say 100ha, It including rotavator. we can say 200 ha per year. but this year is lower, because of the increasing of service providers. and no rain no water for this year, so this is why, but for last year 200 ha, because we cultivate 2 times a year according to farmers, if the cultivate more we work more too. He said that he have known No-tillage through Mr. Kong. he has asked him for cover crop seed, and he didn't know how to grow it, then he contacts to Mr. Vuthy at CASC. and one day staff of CASC invite him for the training, so that we have connected till now. In last year, he wants to plant cover crop too, but it was too much rain, so that we can't plant it. this year we are planting it , it grows well in beginning, but today is too dry because no rain no water so we don't know yet. He decides to test DAEng seed planter, because he wants to show to other farmers in order to get interesting from them. If we have market or enough budget, we will buy one, for providing to farmers here. because today not much farmers interest on it, because they don't see the result yet. but we want to show them, we also plant for them even if they have small plot. he have planted 3 ha here, he also planted at Boeung Krosa 9 ha that is equal to 12 ha. he has planted at his own field 8 ha, so he have planted 20 ha totally. For the advantage, the seed in line and we can plant close the land border. and It is run stably not jump to much because it is heavy. If we broadcast by hand we can't do close to the land border, then rice seed will throw over. the price is higher a bit, but we can save seed and fertilizer drop in the right place. weed could not grow well because no fertilizer. if we broadcast by hand, fertilizer is not in line so the weed can absorb as well. for this planter, fertilizer and rice seed drop in the same place and weed grow outside line couldn't grow well. for disadvantage is the adjustment of amount of seed and fertilizer is running out during operation. we could drill it a little bit and it can be stabilize. It still running we tighten it with the luck screw, because it doesn't have a hole. so when It run out, the chain also fail down. last day he planted at Boeung Krosa, the chain fell down, he saws it seems working normal but no rice seed drop down. when he come and check then he see it loosen the luck screw. So he tightens it, soon it run again, that is because it doesn't have a hole. we drill it a small hole and use a luck screw tighten it. he saws rice seed planter of brazil, the use the corner square steel bar, son that why it doesn't run out. but for DAEng seed planter using O-steel bar with lock screw, so it does't durable. this year farmers already broadcast by hand, a lot of farmers want to plant by this planter but they can not plant because it is too late, so they can not wait, because they are afraid of the raining coming. may be next year will have more farmers then this year, but they don't see the result of this planter yet. how much it's yield if we compare to other farmers broadcast by hand. we have customers maybe we can cover 200 ha per year. If we don't have customers we don't know too. and the another factor is the weather, if it is too much rain we can not plant, If we have customers maybe we can cover about 200 ha. because with this planter we can cover 5-6ha per day.
